FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers to common questions about the Advanced Open Water course

How long does the Advanced Open Water course take?

The course can be completed in just 2 days, especially if you include a night dive. The flexible structure allows you to pace your learning according to your schedule.

What's the difference between Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water?

Adventure Diver is a recognition level for completing three adventure dives. Advanced Open Water Diver is the full certification achieved after completing five adventure dives (including the required Deep and Navigation dives).

Do I need to be an "advanced" diver to take this course?

No! The "Advanced" title refers to going beyond the Open Water level. The course is designed to help you advance your skills, not for already-advanced divers.

Is there a lot of theory involved?

The course is primarily practical. For each adventure dive, you'll complete a brief knowledge review rather than lengthy classroom sessions. Most learning happens in the water.

Can I choose any adventure dives I want?

You must complete the Deep and Navigation dives. The other three are your choice from available options. Your instructor can help you select dives that match your interests and local conditions.

Will I be tested on skills during the course?

The course focuses on experience and skill development rather than testing. Your instructor will guide you through new skills and help you become comfortable with them.
